  • Recommended Hitch-Mount Motorcycle Carrier for Use on Class A Motorhome
  • We do offer one motorcycle carrier that is properly rated for use in the 2-inch hitch on your Class A rig, Ultra-Fab Motorcycle Carrier # UF48-979033. This ramped carrier offers a 500-lb capacity. You will need to confirm the tongue weight (TW) capacity of your hitch to ensure it is rated high enough for the combined weight of your motorcycle and the 48-lb Ultra-Fab carrier. Their combined weight cannot exceed the hitch's capacity. You'll also need tie-down straps to secure the bike to...

  • Availability of a Tie Down System that Auto Tensions
  • If your motorcycle is tightened down properly there would be no need for a tie down system that would automatically tension itself. Also, there isn't a system available that is capable of doing this. If when you hit a bump your motorcycle is working itself loose that would indicate that it wasn't adequately secured. The part # IMF18804 would do an excellent job securing your motorcycle as long as you used them properly. I always had the best luck running a tie down to each handle bar...

  • Availability of RV-Rated Hitch Motorcycle Carrier for Use on Winnebago 35F Motor Home Hitch
  • Any type of carrier that will be used on the back of an RV or trailer - such as a bike, cargo or motorcycle carrier - must be rated specifically for use on such vehicles. This restriction has more to do with distance and leverage than just sheer weight. On an RV or trailer, the rear axle will be much further forward of the hitch than with a typical passenger car. This distance translates into more leverage on the hitch and carrier, much in the same way that using a pipe on the end of...

  • Hitch-Mount Carrier for Bicycle That Does Not Require Lifting the Bike
  • Hitch mount bike racks are offered in both the hanging-style and the platform style; the latter does require the bike be lifted but to a lesser degree than hanging-style racks. We do not currently offer any bicycle racks with ramps. However, the Ultra-Fab Motorcycle Carrier # UF48-979033 that you referenced may indeed be the right solution for you. This carrier for 2-inch hitches has a ramp that can be fitted to either side of the carrier and it includes a pin and clip to secure it in...

  • Availability of 8 Foot Long Tie-Down Strap to Use on a Tarp
  • To use a rubber strap you would need to attach 2 or 3 straps, like the Erickson Rubber Tarp Strap, part # EM06741, together to be able to reach that length. I do not have a single rubber tarp strap that will stretch to 8 feet. I do offer tie-down straps and ratchet straps that would be able to give you the 8 foot distance you need. A few examples would be the Erickson Retractable, Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps, part # EM34417, that is 9 foot long. Also, have three choices in the 10 foot length...

The straps have built-in adjustable loops for wrapping axles. We also offer them individually as part # BDW20229. These are usually used with tie-down anchors like # RR5K. Your dolly may allow use of these axle straps to avoid the concern about tire damage. It would be a good idea to check with the...

  • Availability of Erickson Car Tie-Down Straps With Ratchet
  • We do have a car tie-down kit from Erickson that is very similar to the one you referenced, though the Erickson Tie-Down with the Multiplier Ratchet and Swivel Hook is no longer available. Instead, I recommend the Erickson Car Tie-Down Kit with Ratchet # 08504-05, which like the kit you mentioned, is 7 feet long, has 2 inch wide axle straps and a 10,000 lb break strength. Each also has a 3,300 lb safe working load limit which will affect how many straps you need. For example if the car...

  • Do the ShockStrap Shock Absorbing Tie-Down Straps Come in a Retractable Style?
  • The ShockStrap Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps w Built-in Shock Absorbers - 1-1/2" x 7' - 1K - Qty 2 # 297-7RSDB are not available in the retractable style. This is simply because the shock absorbing element wouldn't be able to be retracted to the spring loaded coil. The manufacturer doesn't make a semi-retractable option at this time. If you would like a retractable strap instead of the shock absorber, then I recommend the Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps w/ Push Button Releases -...
